I got a little crossways with HPOCA when they did Sherry wrong (what was it, 10 years ago?). I dropped my membership and haven't been back.

For those of us who aren't members, would sure be nice if someone could scan that article on rrlund and post it.

Thanks.

Ah Rowdy Randy,
Yer fans are calling now!

PS: Sure seems like an easier way than me scanning the article and posting BUT:
What is your Day Job:
I've been a full time farmer all my life. I run a cow/calf herd and finish out all of my calves.

Stay tuned - More tomorrow night

Keep going. If I scan it,it'll look like vanity. If nobody else does it,I suppose I'll have to but geeze, aren't any of you members and get the magazine? LOL

Alright,I just hope you clowns don't have me violating copyright laws or something. Just remember what Andy and Barney told Gomer when they set him up with Mary Grace, don't over expect. I still don't feel worthy of it. It was just my turn.

It was good talking to you on the phone and would have been nice to have seen your collection on the way back from the HPOCA winter show but unfortunately two fellow travelers had to get home as soon as possibly ( family reasons ) How is the 500 coming along? Hope you will post work in progress or at least finished pictures of it on this form or even in the magazine ( both of them )
My two cents worth on the " Sherry incident " its water under the bridge.... let it go people. What other tractor club has two magazines devoted to their favorite breed and get a Oliver fix every month of the year. I'm a HPOCA member and I also have a subscription to Oliver Heritage, both are excellent magazines and I look forward to each issue

Thanks Jim,good talking to you too. I learned some things. If you're ever over this way and have the time,be sure to stop in.
The fenders, hood and grille for the 500 are at the body shop. I took the generator to the repair shop. I wish I knew if the regulator was any good or not but she said she'd never found a way to test those. I got the new tach in and the cable hooked up. I pulled the old steering wheel off and set the new one on,it'll have to come back off to paint the tractor. I'm hoping to have it done by the later part of August for the "local" steam show.

As far as the whole Sherry thing, yep, that was two editors ago. Kevin and Robin are doing a fantastic job. They aren't from the Midwest and aren't part of any good old boys network so are impartial and seem to put a lot of time in to putting out a great magazine.
Sherry landed on her feet and is doing a great job with two magazines of her own as well.

CLOWNS?
We were just trying to provide a fitting ceremony before you sold out and became a salesman on the flea market circuit.
Just so you could sit and talk about yer claim to fame!

Look at it this way,if I want to sell any of that stuff,I can show the buyer those pictures and claim the stuff is even more famous than I am. Looks like a win/win to me. lol
How many times does that make now that the 1850 has been in the magazine?

That's a article to be proud of. Thanks for posting it.
As for the magazines, I get two Moline ones, and Antique Power, as that's what I started collecting, before the other brands started coming in. I spotted a interesting article in the Oliver Heritage, and subscribed to it. That's my story.

Thanks for posting that, Randy. I hadn't even thought of the "aw, shucks" aspect of it, glad you got past that. BTW, for any who don't know, you can enlarge stuff on here by holding down the Ctrl key while turning the scroll wheel on your mouse.

As for the Sherry thing, I was pretty steamed at the time, and have a 2 digit subscriber number to her magazine. I don't carry a grudge, and just never re-upped with HPOCA because I get several other magazines (both tractor and car), and just didn't see the need for 2 of one marque.

Speaking of that, I got the Prairie Gold magazine and the MM Corresponder at one time (during my "Moline Phase"). Are both of them still going?

Don't know about the MM magazines. I'll just say that Kevin and Robin have kind of taken HPOC off in a different direction from where it has always been. Yes,there's still a feature tractor or piece of equipment with all the tech stuff on them, and there's history of the company, but the bulk of it seems to be about members and what they have. This current issue has the article about my stuff, but there's one about the Woodbridge families Olivers, the Walker's Super 77,Ethan Carpenter's search for a 1600 and chapter 47 of Dan Stamm's 60 that his dad bought new. It's not so much of a tech manual anymore,it's more about people and sometimes individual tractors. I think you'd enjoy it.
