1555 oliver on fastline not good at putting in links maybe somebody can put it in its located in Humboldt sd. It's described as loader special and no over under and no 3 point interesting part is the hydraulic there is no pump under the seat it's run off the pto .now if i could win the lottery .

I don't see where its a 'loader special' looks to me like a stripped down tractor with no 3pt or hydraulic someone stuck a loader on and it still has the row crop front end.It should be priced a lot cheaper than one with 3pt,hydraulic and a PTO that could be used to power a piece of equipment.

funny i was looking at the same tractor on their craigslist ad thinking wow priced more for a stripped down tractor, think i will pass

What you're describing is the "Loader Special" 1555. Actually looks cheap. Machinery Pete reported on one of those recently, brought something like $19,000 and it didn't look as nice as that one.

I can't see the attraction, looks like if it were built for a loader the front axle would be a whole lot stronger than a regular farm tractor.Did it have the reverser in it? My IH 464 built for a loader has a very heavy front axle and shuttle shift on the steering column.

I don't know why they called them a loader special. They were just a stripped down, cheap chore tractor made to sell cheap to livestock operations. From what I've read, there was a short supply of decent used tractors of that size at the time,so they stripped those down to sell for the price of a good used one.

I want to say there was an article about the loader specials in the HPOCA magazine a few years back. They are rare as hens teeth. Seems that most of them ended up in Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Dakotas. The ones that I have actually seen had Farmhand hay loaders on them so its not like you could have used them for much more than a loader tractor anyway.

Just got to wondering in the late 60 early 70 ag took a downturn and didn't some companies make cheap tractors just to keep going .an example would be 4020 vs 4000 john deere i think oliver did the same though I don't know the number might not be this tractor was from that era ?

There's nothing special about it.
Not worth 7 grand either,..half that maybe if it would be a diesel.
Gas job,..2 1/2 grand.

I guess they were OK for raking hay, pulling wagons, things of that nature. Like owning a 77 or 88 with a mechanical lift.

Ludens Implement thinks EVERYTHING they have is special.... I have tried dealing with them a couple of times but they are always way over priced. We had a neighbor that bought a 1555 like that brand new along with a new Farmhand F-25 loader.

I saw that tractor sell at Mecums's auction on RFD-TV. The tractor looks very good. Nice paint job. No flaws in the tractor. The same auction sold a John Deere 4020 for $25,000 and an IH-1206 for $20,000.

The one that I saw him talking about on TV was on a farm auction or dealer auction. It had faded paint and automotive type tires on the front.

If a gas burner will bring that I have a 1555 diesel with all new engine original paint 3600 hrs on tractor I will take 9500 for and everything works on it.
