Brake disc for an Oliver 550: no "pads?"

I have adjusted both rear breaks on my 1972 Oliver 550 at the pedals until there is no more adjustment to be had there. Thinking that the brakes on this tractor might work like other machines, I went looking for "brake pads." However, YesterYears Tractor only brings up a brake disc. Does the Oliver 550 had a braking system that does not use pads but rather just the brake disc (pushing against something in there)?
If so, is it the brake disc that wears out eventually causing the brake pedals to go to the floor, and so need replacing?

Finally: I had done fairly simple things on my Oliver, like taking off the gas tank to have it sealed and replacing my radiator with a new one but have never messing with the clutch or the brakes except to adjust them from the outside. How big a job is it to replace the brake disk (or whatever wears out in there)? ie is there allot to disassemble -- say more than all the hardware I had to remove in order to get my tank off and my radiator off and back on? Just trying to get an idea if I am up to the task.

Disk brakes were used by many of the tractor manufactures. There are 2 disks on each side. On your clutch there is no transmission brake like on a large truck transmission. You may have a bad pilot bearing. You need to at least buy yourself an I & T manual. I worked for an Oliver dealer and probably 80+ percent of the 550 tractors we sold had loaders installed on them, they were all made by other manufactures except for one Oliver loader. You may need to do the Z split the tractor to repair your clutch problem. How much free travel do you have in the clutch petal now?
