has anyone used proformance / racing rod bolts
instead of factory syle bolts in there 310 turbo ?
or better yet used a stud kit insted of bolts all
together , going to get new one here, thinking of
trying ARP bolts or stud kit , anyone have some
thoughts or input ,torque may need adjusted on studs
, thanks

I'm pretty sure ARP sells bolts that will work for this application from what I read before. If you get factory style bolts, get them from wauskesha directly - much cheaper.

Look at the surface in the rod cap where the head of the bolt sits.   It must be at 90 degrees to the centerline of the bolt.   Also the surface that the underside of the bolt sits on must be smooth to create friction to prevent loosening of the bolt. Good bolts is important also.

Do not overlook the other end of the connecting rod.   Originally it had a two piece wrist pin bushing, replace it with a one piece bushing.

I have ARP bolts in mine. We broke one of the new style AGCO bolts in the 1950-T once. I tried to find studs for head bolts. Never found any.
