Differences between 88, Super 88, and 1650 engines?

Are you wanting to know say all 3 are gas engines or all 3 are diesel or a mix of the 2? For the 1650 if diesel are you asking about one with a Lanova combustion chamber or the direct injection version/ Help us out here:

I'm sorry, I meant gas engine. Should have specified. I'm only asking because I have an 88 chassis without an engine that I plan on pulling with it.

The 88 would have been lower displacement than the one that's in the super 88/880/1650, but I think either will bolt in on that chassis.

Not sure about the 88 of hand. The super and 1650 use 2 different style pistons. and basically to different heads. The problem I am running into with a 1650 and Super 88. Is mismatched cylinder head and pistons. The thing ran like it had 100 hp but it bent all the push rods. They say education costs money. That is why I put my phone number in the profile. Have numbers that will and will not interchange. Also later 1650s may have 7 mains or 4 mains for earlier ones. Can not remember for sure, but I think the 88 engine is 2 inches shorter.

The 88 block and head can be built to as much horsepower as you need. The other blocks and heads can be identified but same basic design from 1948-1974. Most of them are easily identified. Some places that matters, others places it doesn't.
