The little plastic drive gear located in the housing on the front of the tranny's bottom gear shaft of one of my 1855's, the gear that drives the speedometer cable broke.
Agco wants $80 for it

Not in my life

Try an oil pump or harmonic balancer for a 310,
over $1,000 each. then you can complain. $80
will fill your pickup. I understand your
frustration though.

My brother needed a balancer for his Gleaner M2 diesel. $1200 from AGCO, all the salvage yards wanted $300- 400 for a "badly cracked one." Sent it to a guy in Washington? I think. anyway, done in 3 days, lifetime warranty. It was around $300, can't beat that, and it looks better than a new one.

I sent 3 balamcers to Dale manufacturing I think they were in Washington. Did a great job. AGCO prices on some stuff is nuts but I'm happy it's available. Now AGCO 310 head gaskets are obsolete. Of all the things to discontinue?

You go figure!

eah i found that out a couple months ago when i was looking for one,..they quoted me $1240 for one:shock:
I decided to rebuild the one i had.
I drilled the top bushing up a size and welded the shaft up and machined it down to fit the bushing.
I also machined a new shaft bushing above the gears.
Pump is as good as new again and builds 25 psi just cranking the engine with the starter.
So i made $600 per hr,..not to bad a paycheck i say

$80 for a itty bitty plastic gear is nuts.
A new injector is only $50

I had that happen with a pilot bearing for an 1850. They gave me a price of $118. A year later it was just over 50.
