I would appreciate any infor I can get on 1750 rearend

I would appreciate any information I could get on an Oliver 1750 rear end. I just struck a deal on a tube chassis for a v-8 puller with this rear end and I do not have any Oliver background knowledge. From what I have gathered so far they are good rear for mating up a different engine in front of them. This will be for a 600-700ho big block chevy at 6000 rpm. From my understanding its a dry disc brake system and I have a six speed gear selection. Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Well in rounded off figures that equals out to about 500-550 foot pounds or torque. What gear do you plan on using? I would need to look in a parts book but without doing the math but if you are using one of the high range gears I think your low range gear is going to spinning at close to 12,000 RPM! 80 Horse power at 2400 RPM (stock tractor)is about 180 pound feet or torque. What speed do you think your rear wheels will be turning? How fast will you be turning your rear wheels? What % of wheel slippage are you thinking? What weight class? I am just asking! J.

Years ago all the pullers that were using high HP
V8 engines were looking for Cockshutt 40 and 50 rears.I have an old rail with a Cockshutt 50 rear in it he used to run a GM 454.
