OC3 modification questions

I have always been interested in a crawler. A small one, with D8 pulling capacity would be great but have to be realistic, lol.
I own nothing Oliver, know even less, except a Cousin has completely restored an OC3, and WOW is it nice!
There is a 3 way trade possible, a trailer for a OC3, and then an Allis D12 III with 2 speed reduction for it.
Problem is, the OC3 has had the motor replaced with a large air cooled engine, and the sheetmetal and radiator, original engine, and who knows what else changed out. What appears to be a 12v hydraulic pump powers the single lift cylinder that raises the added front blade. It is supposed to run and operate, with 90% undercarriage, but my question is...are there parts available to put it back to the 4 cylinder water cooled with sheet metal at anywhere near a reasonable cost? Size and weight are a plus to me, and the fact that it has a pto is huge.
Just how hard are replacement parts to come by for this crawler?

To bring it back to what if should be would cost more then finding one that is as it should be. I sold a OC-3 I had years ago and it was a nice little toy but lacked power. I have a HG-42 right now with an Oliver 60 engine in it and that helps for power. If you want a crawler that can do some real work and small look at a JD 350 or some such machine

The OC3 was a nice little unit in original form. However there was a reason everyone swapped their OC-3's for OC-4's as soon as they came out and Old pegged it. The OC-3 didn't have a lot of giddy-up-go under the hood. (thus the reason you see so many OC-3's with engine upgrades) OC-4's had PTO unit's available on them. Mine is equipped with one. You could probably buy a refurbished OC-4 (or maybe even an OC-6)from Zimmerman's for less money than the purchase price of the OC-3 plus the cost of restoring to original. The OC-4 has a nearly ideal hp/weight ratio and a much better unit than the older OC-3 design.
