New member here and recently new owner of a 1600 gasser. I live up in an area that regularly reaches negative double digit temperatures in the winter and want to use this tractor to help in the fight against the snow but am running into problem with the carb freezing up on a pretty regular basis even in temps above zero. I've seen a lot of other people talk about this problem but no one ever mentions what they're doing to remedy the situation. Any help would be appreciated.

Can not show you a picture.I make a stove pipe around the muffler and run a pipe from it to the air intake witch draws warm air to the engine carb.

Ah yes! I remember those days. Oliver had a kit that preheated the air so it would not do that. I can send you a picture of the kit if I can get your snail mail address. J.

This is on my 1650 gasser. Like the other poster , try
to draw some heat off the muffler. Hopefully the
picture can show you an idea.

J. Schwiebert, can you post a pic of preheater our printer isn't working? Did Oliver carbs frost up a lot? Mine runs fine but frosts up in summer and winter. My dad and I burned alcohol that he made legally in a Farmall M and that would freeze up. Greg
