I have just purchased a 2150 with FWA and can't figure out how
To shift into the high range of gears. It only has one shifter and
The farmer thought you push down on the shifter to change from
High to low. The tractor has been sitting for about ten years and
Well I'm an aircraft mechanic so any input from you folks on what I should look for would be appreciated. Oh yay, what are these things worth. I traded a good working haybuster 1206 and$2500 for the tractor. Hope I didn't get hurt to bad. Thanks

You don't have to push down on it. Just let go of the shift, let it center itself, then push ahead toward the dash.

Can you see a shift pattern on the dash like this? Yours may be similar rrlund or someone else may have exact pattern. My father was aircraft mechanic from 1948 to 1969 USAF. Greg

Also, it should have a over/under hydra power in it. Look for a lever next to the throttle, on the inside of the throttle lever, make sure it is in the lowest position(under drive). They tend to bind up when shifting in direct or over drive. Chris

I had a 2150 FWA back in one of my former lives, great tractor. It has set for 10 years?? Does it run? The FWA is NOT for hard surfaces, pavement or gravel. At the bottom of the dash, between the clutch and brake pedals is a rod that moves up and down. Up is engaged, down is disengaged. You have to be stopped when you shift in and out of FWA. The front wheels turn faster than the rear when engaged, usually had to back up several feet to take the pressure off of the drive line to disengage. It will not turn very short!!! Not sure what you are going to do with yours, but if memory is correct, I would make 3 passes across the ends when pulling a 18 1/2" field cultivator to have plenty of room when turning. Good luck, I think when you get used to it, you will love it. Chris

does it have cab and fender fuel tanks? would love
to get one back here as i put a lot hours on one
of those growing up. i hated the cab doors thou
they were a byefold design continental cab if
member right. shifting was two different neutral
area like the pic that has been sent to you. just
remember if you have hills in the under position
it will free wheel down hills?

Im new to the site, so still trying to figure this out. Thanks so much for the replies, they were very helpful. I just drove it home last night and it goes down the road like a beast. Cant wait to hook up to chisel plow. It does have a cab but I'm pretty sure its not a factory cab. it also has the fender tanks. I may need some switches and other electrical components. Does anyone know where a good source of parts is for these. Its a really cool tractor. thanks again.

I drove it down the pavement to get her home and it seemed to drive fine. I'm sure the four wheel drive was not engaged. Is there a problem moving the machine on pavement with four wheel drive disengaged?

The old tractor runs like a top. I replaced all the fluids and put new batterys in her, fixed some wiring and she purred like a kitten. Its a really nice tractor.

It does have a cab but im sure its not factory built. The fender tanks are huge, I wonder how many gallons of fuel they hold?

The fender tanks hold right at 39 gal each. The main tank cap is non vented and the fender tank caps are vented, this makes it suck the fuel out of the fender tanks. DO NOT switch main and fender tank caps. Highways are fine when the FWA is disengaged. Enjoy your new tractor. Chris
