I am looking a a oliver super 55. Said to be a '57 model, gas, 3pt, pto, original paint, trip bucket loader, not great tires. What is a fair price for something like this?
Thanks!

A few more things can change the price dramatically. Does it have external hydraulics, power steering, and a draw bar?
Those items alone are probably worth half the value of the average Super 55. If you look around they go from anywhere from $2,000 to $4,000. What make loader is on it? Got any pictures? Location is also a factor. They seem to be cheaper in the mid-west because there are a lot around. Not so plentiful here in the west. What shape is the tin in other than original paint? Somewhere on this site there was an article on what to look for on the Super 55 and 550, but I can't find it.

I gave $1000 for this 1957 gas,but it was in pieces. I've got about $2500 in it now and it isn't quite finished. Here's a before and after so far.
The one you're describing,I'd say probably $2500-3000.

Look at Lund's tractor. 1957 models were 12 volt Key start, the hydraulic unit has the filter in front of the hydraulic unit as well as many other changes including where the fill for the gas tank is. If it has a remote valve for the hydraulics, a drawbar and good tires the value will be higher as well. Serial number is down by the clutch petal. My 2 cents worth. J.

Not all 1957 model Super 55's were created equal. The late ones had the new style rear end housing, drawbar bracket and used the new style drawbar frame.

If you are looking at one the key start, the gas fill cap and the position of the hydraulic filter are external changes that are easy items to identify to prove it is a 57 or later model. There were also internal changes.
