60-660 I am interested in small tricycle and can tell that each model newer had improved from the later but sometimes newer isn't all ways better , just thought y'all May share your thoughts. Thanks Jimmy.

They just kept improving. The 60 didn't have live PTO,the rest did. A 660 would probably be the hardest to find and the most expensive, but they weren't much different than the Super 66. I think the RPM's might have been turned up a little on the 660,but that's about it. The frame was different on the Super 66 and 660 than it was on the straight 66. The Super and 660 had flat pads with threaded holes in the sides of the frame to bolt attachments to.

Just wondering why you comment that they are all junk? Depends on what you are going to use it for.

I think it's because the post sat here for a couple of days and nobody would stick their neck out and give an answer.
You have to admit,it makes us look like a hand full of elitists who only talk to each other.

Nailed it . Now not to be more particular I am a farmall man and have decided that I want a small tricycle from each family to play with , cultivators , planters , maybe a sickle mower , I like the looks of the 60 and the 660 the others not so much. I prefer tractor in the 1940-60 range ,and have already bought 2 john deere 40T' s and a john deere B , farmall B, super C - 240 ,and an allis CA. So the bad on a 60 would start me . Thanks Jimmy.

Are you saying that you want to know the bad about the 60's?
No live PTO,odd sized tires and hard to get engine parts for.
I'm kinda partial to my 66 for personal reasons. If price is an issue, the 60 will probably be the cheapest, then the 66,Super and 660 will set you back some bucks if you can find one.

We had a 60 Oliver Standard on ther farm years ago along with teh Cockshutt 70 standard, 60 seemed to be a good little tractor,, It si long gone, but I bought a Cockshutt 60 Row Crop last year, First ime to own a 60 in about 40 years, Some refinements over the 70 as it is a newer desing, but I think the Continental engine in the 70 is a bit more advanced with precision insert bearings without shims and higher comoression. 60 is still a good little machine I think. You would not be dissappointed in it,

No. They were a mechanical lift. My 66 has the mechanical lift, but hydraulics were an option.

I have a 66 and have owned several 60's the 66 is far more useful to me,has LPTO,hydraulic lift great little tractor to pull a trailer mower or to rake with.I'm getting ready to put a 660 diesel engine out of a roller in the 66.All Olivers of that era had better steering than without power steering than most any other tractors.
