Looking for a starter for super cheap in Central Iowa

Need one for a 77 88 880 1650 1655 1850 1755 1855 Gas. Just something that may start an engine a couple times to prove it runs to get it sold. Anything out there? I know of one for free, but it's 130 miles away so something closer would be excellent.

Actually, one to borrow (or even rent) for a month or two would even be nice.

Thanks!

Just for your info the starter off of some of the old MH tractor will bolt right on and work on the Oliver 77 etc. I learned that a couple years ago when I had a starter go bad and I needed my S88 to do hay and have a MH44 sitting here and it bolted right on and worked just fine

Pull start them to get them to run if all you gotta do is start for
a potential buyer, what models are you trying to sell? Any
pictures and price where in iowa are you.

I appreciate the info and suggestions! I'm north of Ames, IA about 20 miles.

So, this is what I've got...
A Perkins T6-354.3 diesel engine from a White 8800 Combine. It's been sitting since Fall 2013. I want to get it running and check the oil pressure, etc... before I try to sell it. I was going to use it in a project, but I think I'm going to go another direction. So, it will be for sale (whatever I find - good or bad), but I'm not going to set a price until I get an idea of how it's running and get a video for anyone who's interested.

So, from what I understand, the starters from these Olivers will fit it, albeit they might be a little under powered, but, like I said, it's only to try to get it started once or twice.

Thanks Everyone!

Oh yeah, I know, but they're quite expensive and I just can't justify buying one for a motor I'm going to sell. At least with the little one, I'd have a spare for my 1650. And if it's not quite enough to spin it around, maybe I could help it with a belt on the front pulley or something.

If the 130 mile away starter is for a 354 Perkins Shipping and freight would make a cheap starter.
I have had a few Perkins AT6354 and I would want the size it needs and a group 31 battery.
Do not borrow or rent one or you probably will have a pretty good repair bill to pay.

The 130 mile away one is off an 1800B gas, but I know it worked and I know it's free if I go get it. If a starter from a 2-105 would work, I can look around the same place for one of those too. Seems to me they had a longer nose or something like that. Problem with the place 130 miles away is time more than the cost of driving there or anything else.

But, yeah, I wouldn't want to ruin someone else's starter, so I'd obviously quit if it didn't have the power.

I've got a couple 31 and a couple 24 batteries to use.

I overlooked the gas starter you put in your post. Do not see anyway a gas starter will have enough torque to work

I'm in waterloo and have a starter you can use. I won't be able to get it to you until Monday, however. Email is in the handle.

So, I've done a little more research and I think the starter off the Cummins 5.9L sitting right next to it will work! Searching by the corosponding Cummins part number, it says it fits 3.9, 5.9, and 8.3! Is that possible? If that's the case, I'm going to get a junk yard one for my 1650 to increase the starting torque in these cold days.

So, I'm going to try it tonight and let you guys know.

I still might take your offer up, e, but I'll let you know! I really appreciate it either way!

Thanks all!
