12 point connecting rod bolts

What kind of socket does the 12 point rod bolts
take? A 3/8 12 point socket seems a little lose or
are they a special torx socket? Thanks.

Try a 12 mm 12 point.

Should be a 3/8 12 point socket a 12mm would be to big.

I did try a 12 mm and that was to big. The only
socket I have in a 3/8 12 point is a 1/4" drive so
I will have to buy one. Just wanted to make sure
it wasn't something special before I did that.

/16 is equal to 11 mm.
3/8 is 1/16 bigger so i thought 12 mm might just fit,..i guess not eh

The independant Sears Sales and repair store we have in town has sockets. You can buy them for a $1.69. Great selection. Craftsman brand.
