looking at pulling an oliver 77 in the 3500 pound class. what does it take to get one light enough to run that class? what do you guys have yours down to, and whats done to it? and what size rear wheels.
Is it even worth stripping one that light, or will it sit and spin wheels?
Thanks, just kicking some ideas around and need some input

Down below i'm sure someone would be willing to share some tricks. I pull mine in the 4000 straight stock (including the cast rears)

Finding a set of press steel rims will go a long ways in taking off a good bit of weight. Can not tell you how much but I know it would be a good bit.

How much does the driver weigh?

What size tires will you run? 13.6's are about 100# lighter per set than 15.5's.

With 150# driver our 77 makes 3500 with about 75# movable weight.

18.4 x 34 on pressed rims.
Belt pulley removed and installed factory cover.
Lift removed and replaced with factory cover from standard tractor.
Power takeoff removed and installed homemade cover.
Wheelie bars and weight brackets mounted on tractor.
Oliver 66 front pedestal with 6 bolt rims.
Oliver 60 seat support.
Remove fenders.

Reportedly early 77's weigh less than later 77's, and of course Super 77's are heavier yet.

Remember to have fun.

As a comparison our Super 66 is fully equipped and weighs 3250# as is.
