Looking at a 1850 gasser with a blown engine.I'm thinking the diesel out of my 2-70 White will work in the 1850 tub frame? Any problems I might have making it work?

The 1850 gas used a different frame tub than the diesel since the 310 and 354 mounted differently. You will have to find a Perkins tub to do that paticular swap.

the 283 in the 2-70 should bolt right in. Chuck

Scratch that, I was thinking about the 2-85 for some reason. Forgot the 2-70 still used the Waukesha. The bolt pattern for the 283 and 310 blocks are exactly the same so yes, motor out of a 2-70 should fit.

Not to hi jack the post, but I have an 1850 gas. Will a Waukesha diesel or non perkins out of an 1850 diesel fit in the same tub as my 1850 gas. The 1850 gas is a great tractor, but uses 2-3 times as much fuel as a diesel.
