I have a 1951 77 with the heavy front hubs, I got two new rims from Steiner [ whs066 ], painted them with new tires and was going to put them on today and they dont fit, so would anyone have any ideas? the rims measures like 7 inches from hole center and the hub 6 7/8, so rims wrong? they make different hubs?

someone may be able to shed some light on this but I thought that all the heavy cast hubs were the same , wheels did come in different widths for larger tires . we owned 77s, 88s, 770s and 880s and swapped wheels and tires quit often when there were flats.

I would ask Steiner about it. Every set I've ever had fit every tractor I've ever had. But I've never had new rims either. Or you could just drill the holes in the rims bigger? But I suppose those holes are countersunk so maybe not..

Well I think you are both right they should have fit, it took about 4 hours to get them on, I could only get 2 bolts started in them to start with, so I had the same ideal as you did and drilled the holes out alittle, then I could get three of the bolts in, I kept tighten them and rotating around the rim putting different bolts in that would start, until finlly got them all started, let me say they dont fit very well, I would like to know if anyone else has used these and if they fit, I did call Steiner, they just said they have sold a lot of them with no trouble, and try letting the air out, ok, I did lol, didnt help.
They seem to be hitting in the back of the rim against the hub before the flange [ where the bolt goes though ] would seat against the hub.
Thanks for the info, I'm sure that all the hubs are the same, the rims just dont fit. Mike

I thought about sending them back but I didnt know of anyone beside Titan that made them and if they sent me more they would have been the same, they was painted with the tires on them, so I thought that was my best option at the time, letting the air out, ya I thought that was funny also.

Can you find a casting number off the hub and compare it to the parts breakdown? If so, that may help solve the problem.
