I own a Case VAC and was curious because they appear to be in the same power range and aimed at the same market.
When was the 440 production run, What were some of the neat features on it and why did it sell so poorly or I guess why is it so rare today?

Thanks

Did not sell poorly form what I have heard just they where not real common as in less then 1000 ever made. The S44 or the 440 is one I would love to find and then be able to buy

They were built mostly for the tobacco grower market in VA and NC.Oliver 440/Super 44,AC D10
Cockshutt 20 Little Chief,Deere 320,330,Case VAS were all built for the same market but none could really break into the market big time as International with their various 1 row models had a choke hold in that area. You'd see about 100 IH for every one of the others.I owned a couple of small Olivers nothing special other than they are pretty rare.
