Were there two rears for the 1550 most pictures I've seen and the manual mentions a filter just above the right rear brake housing, mine doesn't have one. Also my PTO housing looks different from most pictures I've seen.Mine is all one piece rather than the style with the bolt on plate like is on my 1650.

Are you talking about a transmission filter? 1550s didn't have one, different transmission than the 1650. If your PTO looks like this it's a single speed, either 540 or 1000. If you're lucky it doesn't have the hole in it.

The 2 rears are the regular row crop and the high speed rear end. Has for the filter they never had one on the transmission. The only filter on the rear end is the hrdrolic filter. I have seen in the I T books they show a trans filter, But most of the time those books were made for several models of tractors. So you have to decide for your self, That's why I don't like them. The pto clutch cover were the same except for the dual speed pto (I have never seen a dual speed on a 1550). The 1550 early 1555 the 1600 and the 770 and 880 used the same pto cover for the 540 pto. 1st pic is my 1550 utility 2nd is my 1550 row crop and 3rd is a 1555 I sold. Also the utility has the high speed rear and the other 2 are the regular rears. Bandit
