My old Oliver

I am looking for someone that may be able to help me identify my old Oliver. The only identification tag I find reads; Oliver, Made in England, Specification # VAD/2/OA, Serial # 100621D.
From looking at pictures on the internet, it looks like a Oliver 600, which I have been told is the same as a David Brown 990,
so I purchased a 990 manual, It appears to be similar, but not the same, in particular the fuel pump and filters, which is what I am interested in now. Any help in identifying my tractor would kindly be welcomed.

Looks like a 500 serial number. A 1961 500 Diesel to be exact. I've got number 100537G,a 500 gas.
The 500's were a David Brown 850. Yours being an early one like mine, the bolts aren't standard or metric, they're a British Whitworth thread,so be darned careful not to loose any bolts or nuts and don't try to put a standard thread bolt in any holes. The diameter works, but the thread count is different.

I need to get some new pictures of mine. It's not done yet,but these were taken the day I got it and I've got it looking a little bit better than this.

If you click the link,it'll take you to another post showing some pictures of 500s and a 600 owned by Oliver Jim and Dale Frank.

Thanks for replying, I have ordered a parts manual from yesterdays tractors for my 1961 Oliver 500 diesel. Unfortunately they do not have the fuel pump or repair kit. do you know where else I could go. I would like to also change the fuel filters.

We had two 990 David browns at one time.great tractors, don't
know how they compare to your 500/950

that's what I am told, but I am new at this tractor stuff, I inherited this one from my grandfather from Cut Off, La, (down the bayou in Lafourche parish)

Case bought them, yes. I've been in contact with Yesterdays Tractor for a couple of days now trying to line up some parts for mine. My luck isn't going real good. They said everything is dropship and if it's wrong,I'm stuck with it. They're not finding anything that's specifically for an 850,we're having to guess whether or not they're the same as any other model. I'm having better luck finding parts from a google search turning up suppliers in England, but that's the problem, they're in England.
I'm about 40 miles from a Worthington Salvage yard and just found out they are parting an 885. I've got a call in to them to see if I can go over and look in person to see if they have anything interchangeable.

Cav 296 filters was what our 990 used.if a fuel pump can't be
found a 12 volt pump will work just make sure you check to
see how the return line is set up.cav 296 or equivalent filters
are used on quite a few different small tractors

I did a little looking. Not all 500 diesels use the same fuel filters. They changed about the time they build your tractor. There were also changes made in the fuel pump. So it changed as well. I need an engine serial number. I also need to tell you where to look for it so guess what, I will check that out tomorrow. J.
