1946 Standard 70 is now smoking and missing

Had the radiator out to replace the water pump, hoses, front crank seal, and a few other items. Tractor didn't run for about 6 weeks. Got is all back together, and the motor now runs rough at fast idle. It "coughs" followed by a poof of blue smoke. Stuck valve? Broken ring? I can't understand why this started after sitting for a while, although these things happen when you work on something 70 years old.
Will pull off the valve cover and set the valves to 0.015" and see if that helps.
Any other ideas?

Here's the picks of the parts tractor. They're
pretty rough.

Mine does this too... mine needs a head gasket
as it blows coolant out the rad. Maybe yours
didn't have enough water pump flow to make your
head gasket to leak previous? But check the
easy stuff first. Plugs and wires, valve
adjustment and points. Hope you get her fixed
up. Duane.
