I am looking for a muffler for my 88 row crop gas tractor. All the catalogs I've looked in show a muffler with a 2 and 5/16 inlet size. My tractor has the hole in the hood enlarged and the pipe that the muffler fits over measures 2 1/2 inches. What gives?

Who knows? Maybe someone changed to manifold to fix it at some point. Do you want the above hood muffler or the under the hood muffler? Has the hood been cut out bigger around or Is there a cut like it is a long oval? The under the hood muffler is $26 and up on ebay and would be easy to have the inlet stretched to 2 1/2" from 2 3/8". You just have to add a piece of strait pipe how ever long you want it. I always liked the sound of a 77 or 88 with the under the hood mufflers. Its an idea. I put one on my 1550 utility to replace the factory under the hood muffler that is supposed to be on it. Bandit
