Category 1 implement on Oliver 1650?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to use a category 1 3 point implement on the Oliver 1650 3 point hitch? The three point arms will not move in close enough to connect to a category 1 implements. The closest I can get them together is about 32 inches. I could remove the anti-sway glide blocks and potentially move the arms closer together. However I think the implement would sway around quite a bit with the blocks removed.

Before you pull the blocks off I would take one of the lift arm balls off and see if it will work on the pins on the piece of equipment you want to use. I had an Oliver plow I bought that was cat 1 and the balls on my 1550 would not work on it, They were to wide to use them and had to take the balls off to bring the plow home, I was lucky I only had to go 1/2 mile with it. The plow pins were just wide enough to go threw the lift arms(no balls) and a washer with the lynch pin. I would check to see if it will work before you take them off. Bandit

I bought a blade that is Cat. 1 and has removable pins. I got some Cat. 2 pins that have longer threaded ends, made some beefy spacers to get the right width, and torqued them down good and tight. I have used it several years for snow as well as dirt and gravel and still working good. One caution, most Cat. 1 implements are built lighter so you can destroy them if not careful.

Remove the blocks, and put the thin flat iron wear strips back on, curved side up and out and I think you can get sleeves to put on the Cat 1 plow hitch pins, put the Cat 2 hitch balls over the sleeves and you are good to go, thing there are sleeves to convert the top link ball back to Cat 1 also.
