I have a spare head gasket i bought for another Cockshutt 1855 with the 310 diesel i own that has been laying on my shelf for near 20 years, i figured on using it on the 310 diesel out of a 1855 I bought last year that i'm rebuilding but i just found out that the stupid gasket won't fit.
The cyl sleeve fire ring protrusion is 4 5/16" OD.
The gasket has (laying loose in the gasket) alluminium fire rings with an 4 1/4" ID
The gasket is a Victor with # 3809 and # 22160 L stamped on the gasket.
I thought all 310's where the same, gas and diesel but maybe they are not and this gasket is actually for a gas job.?
Am i right or what is the deal here??
