screw driver test

A Super 55 diesel. I know it has to do with the injector pump, but I am not sure what one is testing or what happens if you don't do the test. How does it differ from tractor to tractor?

I have a couple of cockshutts that have bosch psb pumps. I know if they are froze up and you roll the engine over, things break in the injection pump that are very difficult to find anymore. I'm not an expert at all. Dont even know what pump is on your tractor. Someone more qualified than me can answer this better.

I have a stanadyne pump on my 1650,is there a test that needs to be done ?its been a couple years since it's ran.

rrman, here is what I found on the engine that sat for awhile. It must of had water in it, I found out just by pumping hand pump on right side of engine. I would use that hand pump to make sure you have fuel to the injection pump. Good luck and don't be in a hurry like I was trying to get her running because it gets expensive fast! Greg

For Nick and Super 55. It does deal with the PSB Bosch injection pumps. I did an article once for the HPOCA magazine. I will try to find it this week. If the tractor has been setting 2 years maximum, I would check it for sure!

Thanks Greg I will do that. Also I talked to the shop that rebuilt it and he said turn the engine by hand and if it's locked up it won't want to turn.
