What followed me home on rainy night from Georgia yesterday. 1953 Oliver RC77 Diesel. Bought from Juston Thompson

Have a 1951 RC 77 gasser for sale now and will have pics posted soon.

Doh - here is the pic of the diesel

Does it run? If it has not been started in several years, don't even try it untill you do the screw driver test and check the governor control unit on the pump. Very expensive to repair. Nice old 77! J.

J. Schwiebert runs like a top. The screwdriver test - should I do the same for my 550? It has not been running in over a yr.

That sure does not look like any Ford Escort I ever seen on that car trailer.

Or was it some other POS Ford car that you told U-Haul you would be hauling on their car trailer when you rented it? (LOL)

If you paint a nice original like that, you need to be slapped. Some new decals on those rear side covers is all she needs. That was a super nice find!

Both my trailers are loaded with sale rigs.
1951 T-6 Crawler and 1949 Chevy pickup to be used for
rat rod.

I told the UHAUL guy what I was was going to haul and
he was good with it. He said trailer was rated for
more weight than the 77. I went for it and the $54
for one day trip was an easy choice for me.

Shep, nice bunch of Olivers, unfortunately I couldn't get video to play but could be a problem here. Almost Florida weather here right now its 51 degrees, yesterday it was cold and snowing. Good luck with your new toy. Greg

Your yourtube text says you will replace the wide front with narrow front. I like NF fronts just fine as I own 4 NF's myself although none are Oliver's. That said, not sure I would replace a quality WFE for a NF.

Just curious why the planned NF change? Tractor pulling and weight savings related? Or is that particular WFE not a desirable feature?

Jeff Wiesenel -
Rig is rough. Bought it for the rear end but went a different route with my '49 GMC.

It would make a rat rod but if looking for something to restore I would look elsewhere.

Let me know if still interested.

rankrank1

I have 2 WFE tractors now. My original workhorse
Oliver 550 Diesel and my 1650 gasser. The 1650 is
getting fitted with 1610 loader. These are my work
rigs.

The fleetlines will work but setting them up to be
like the old Oliver add 3 beauties. I have NFE 66
gasser getting cultivators mounted - hoping to put
Oliver 550 diesel in it some day.

The 77 Dsl with WFE will be changed to NFE to
match the 66. I also have an Olive 88 NFE that
will do disking duties etc.

Hope that answers your question.

Thanks for the answer. I was mainly just curious for my own knowledge. Wanted to make sure there was not an undesirable Ollie WFE out like there is on the old Farmall h's and m's where one is good and one is not so good and therefore not desirable.
