I have been working on a Super 55 PTO clutch. I am having trouble in removing the spider nut. I have a tool made but have put a lot of force and it has not moved yet. My concern is if I am turning it in the right direction. As I stand in front I am turning to my left which would be as a standard nut. Am I right.

That nut should have been staked to keep it form turning. Use a small punch or chisel to help to get the nut off.
