Been talking to the fellow with the 1550 gasser for awhile and went today to look at it and ended up buying it.Some good some bad
The Bad
1)Needs a muffler
2)Needs gas line replaced
3)The fellows son blew one of the remote hoses just before I looked at it spraying the owner with hydraulic oil
4) Has a dead miss on one cylinder sounds like a plug bad or something of that order,of course you never know
5)Was painted with a brush not a bad job from about 20ft (LOL)
The Good
1)Engine seems fine except for the miss,no smoke, good oil pressure,no blow by
2)Very straight sheet metal
3)Dual remotes and hydraulic pump works good(refer to #3 above)
4)3pt in good shape
5)Good rims tires are about 1/3 tread
6)trans sounds and works good
7)2 speed shifts as smooth as any I've ever driven
8)Has the front axle that sets back a ways under the front don't know if thats good or bad
9)Power steering works great
10)Almost no oil leaks other than the hydraulic hose
11)The owner talked himself down from the $2800 he was asking to $2000.
Anyway its not the 1650 or 1655 I really was looking for but I think it'll make a pretty decent tractor.

Cool! Welcome to the 1550 club. I think you will like it and with the swept back front axel you will find it will turn a dime! I have 3 1550's and love all 3 of them. You just cant beat a good 1550. Bandit

Mine started to miss when I was raking second cutting hay. I thought it was a bad plug, but it had a broken rocker arm. Availability wasn't a problem,it was available from Agco. I just hope yours is only a plug though. It set me back something like eighty bucks.

I see an 88 to the side. I did not know you had one. I know you have the 70, 77, 1550, 1850, and 1365. You should slip in a 770, also.

I'm waiting for a nice original 88. There was one locally on CL this spring, but I didn't have the time to mess with it,then it was gone. I'll get one some day.

rrlund, wish I knew you needed a rocker arm I have a whole set will sell for $100. Kenny in sc these are very good came off my super 77 put on a set of high ratio rockers on the 77
