More hp in Super 88

Have decided to take advice and put a 283 in the tractor instead of trying to get more out of the 265. Found a motor what I thought was reasonable.

Found it while looking for a motor for a friend for a 1655.

Thanks for everyone's comments it helps when trying to decide what to do.

Ohio88, which 283 did you get the indirect or direct injection. J. Schwiebert and others can give you info on updates for the engine. I have a 283 direct injection that has hole in the block from wrist pin coming out of rod looks pretty ugly. Previous owner was blowing silage with her wide open when it came apart. Greg

The motor I am getting has just been redone and it is direct injection.

Ohio88, I am not looking for an engine right now and I didn't send any E-mail. An old friend of mine has a 1655 that has close to 10000 hours and still going strong but always serviced and bearings changed around every 1500 hours he told me. He also has his fathers 1929 Moline Universal running. In 2013 he showed it at the Roseboom NY tractor show his father bought it new. Greg
