Oliver row crop 88

Looking at buying an oliver 88. The. Tractor has all the original side shields. The owner claims those are worth $400 a side. Is that correct? It has the original fenders and lights too. He has it priced at $2500 and I think he is about $500 too high. But it is fairly close to home about 70 miles and he agreed to do the hauling included in the price. I don't know much about Oliver's as far as value but I was wondering if it is worth more than a comparable farmall M?

If he is going to truck it included in the price , 70 miles@ a dollar a mile. Sounds to me like that would make this a $1800.00 tractor ,plus delivery. Or $2500.00 delivered. Just the way I look at things. If I wanted the tractor ,I would go for it. Bruce

Probably not too far off on the price. Many variables here...year? condition? hydraulics? tires? gas or diesel? the list goes on.

Newer math maybe $4.00 a mile. 70 miles X $4.00 is $280. Still boils down to is it gas or diesel, condition of tires, etc. I am not smart enough to write an algorithm. Would have to look at tractor and use old school math.

It's maybe a little high but not too far out of line. For $2500 I'd expect reasonably straight metal, half or better tires, and it to run and operate well enough to go to the field. I believe it would be worth a little more than a farmall M, but not a lot. In the field their is no comparison though. It is getting harder to find nice originals of any color, so if it's decent $2500 is probably not too bad.

It's a gas tractor, no hydraulics. Must have been kept inside a lot because the original green paint is not too bad. The red on the wheels isn't very good.

That's the trouble with not knowing how many hours or being able to see it. When I hauled milk back in 73-74-75,an old bachelor had an 88 Row Crop, narrow front,no hydraulics. If that tractor had gone in to storage when he quit farming and I could buy it today in the shape it was in then,I'd give $2500 for it in a heartbeat.
