Thing doesnt look to big from the side, then ya see that rear view and its friggin huge!! Wonder if theres any of those left floating around.

They built 6 of the twin tractors, I am not sure if that includes any roller units. I saw one of the twin engines units when I was out in the summer of 1961. I used to have a black & white picture of it.

This was discussed last night on the Oliver Tractor page on Facebook. According to Herb Morrell's book, one went to California to a race track. One went to a road construction company and one went into this roller unit.

About 40 years ago I saw a roller with double Olivers powering it down near Springfield or Decatur, Ill. Road construction I think. Don't remember if they were 770 or 880. If they needed more power, why didn't they put a 990 on there instead of 2 880's? Chris

This might just be my opinion but I sure think that two 880s would out power and out weigh one 990, they probebly did it for both power and weight as it is a packer, I could be wrong though. Neat unit woulda though construction company's would of bought them but must not been a big seller as its been said.

I saw a double 770 or 880 roller similar to the pictures in the early 80's near Philadelphia, PA in a salvage yard. Didn't have a camera with me at the time.

In 1959 when they flew the dealers out to Waterloo for the showing of the new 18 & 1900 tractors they must have also taken then to Charles City or they had one of the twin engine tractors at the show for display. Anyhow the Oliver dealer in Bowling Green Ohio was owned by twin brothers. They put one of the twins on each seat for pictures of a seeing double picture so to speak.
