so i have my father inlaws tractor picked it up it was low on hydrolic oil and the bucket will only lift so high so I added fluid right between my legs but I must have over filled it so I pulled what I thought was the plug for hydrolic oil but only got about a gallon or 2 of yellowish oil, ran tractor and orked hydrolics trying just to work fluid through lines and had the fill cap pressurizes and spray oil everywhere and now I have a mess and the the bucket still wont go up any ideas?

(quoted from post at 18:35:53 12/18/14) There is NO drain plug for the hydraulics. Sounds like you have a coupler problem You also need an operators manual!

so I must have drained the tranny by mistake? im guessing I will need to suck the oil out to get the proper level?

If that is the handy way for you otherwise unhook a coupler and pump it in a bucket. If the dipstick flew out of the hole I would say the breather located on the dipstick is plugged.

ya maybe it was froze ill try the heat gun in the am and see if that works, off hand any idea where the tranny fill cap is?

so, this plug you took out to get the yellowish oil, Where was it located? Did you drain it completely? How thick was the oil? To me, it would have to be PTO, transmission or rear end. While you are trying to figure out your hydraulic problems, I don't think you want to run a different component dry. Chris

Its on the floor by the foot lever for steering column tilt. Transmission and rear end hold 32 quarts. Hydraulics hold 20 quarts if you have 3 point. You may have to pry a little round cover off to get to trans. and rear end fill cap. Drain plug should be lower right rear corner of main frame. Two plugs are used trans plug under front center of main frame also need to clean pump suction screen on plug behind trans drain plug. Trans filter on left side behind battery box. Trans oil is SAE 80 good luck.
