1650 PTO Leak

I have a 1964 1650, SN 151274. It has a single speed PTO, 540 RPM. It has been leaking rather significantly at the PTO shaft. The other day, I went ahead and popped the snap ring out and pulled the shaft out. I can see into the transmission through the hole.

I put the shaft back in and wiped the outside down. It looks like it is leaking through the bearing and maybe around it. I know there is an o-ring in there that the outside of the bearing would seal against.

Is the bearing supposed to be holding the oil back or is the expansion plug missing that I see in the parts book, therefore not keeping the oil out. I couldn't quite tell for sure if something was missing from the parts book.

Thoughts appreciated!

there is a plastic cap that covers that hole and is held on with a snap ring , you have to remove the whole assembly to get at it

old1850D is correct, but do not secure with the snap ring that AGCO provides ,clean very well with brake clean and use black RTV silicone sealant to secure the plug , the snap ring will pinch and distort the plug cap and it will leak again .
