1900 Checker Board Injector Info Request

I have a 1900 checker board tractor with the 453 Detroit engine. I have one injector that has a slight miss. I live in the west and all injector shops want to sale me a remanufactured injectors. I want to step up my nozzels a couple of sizes. Could anyone refer me to a shop that could do this. Your assistance would be sincerely appreciated.

More than likely to renozzle yours will cost just as much as a reman injector. Once they test/clean/put bigger nozzles in. Just buy bigger remans
 
Better off to go to a Detroit dealer and pick
the size you want and get them. I got some for
my 371 and it was less than 300$. Don't forget
that if you put big injectors in you need to
raise the engine rpm to make them be worth the
time and money or it will just smoke.
 
First of all I checked this out several years ago. Is your engine still a "S" series with the 2-valve head? you may not get the full benefit of the larger injectors with the S series engine. On the slight miss, have you gotten your timing tool out and checked the injector timing? Have you checked your valve clearance? Several years ago we had a V-6 in the shop, It has a miss, injectors is what the owner wanted, but the problem was with a worn camshaft. Did you do a tune up first as outlined in the GM manual or a good source like a Motor's truck manual?
 
Buy reman injectors. If you install bigger injector you will have
to increase the air intake or you won't gain a thing other than
smoke and a fuel bill
 
Thanks for all your advice,Maybe I should just put the same size injectors back in.I live in SE Idaho.Not many GM tractors out here anymore or good mechanics to help me out with the ol girl. Love to see U folks in the Midwest make them run strong. Any other inputs or info on Detroit dealers or shops Would be great. Thanks again!
