malfuntion hydraulic '1950?' Oliver

I'm conversing with a gentleman on a general forum, but I thought I'd challenge any of you Olivermen as well. Simple explanation-hydraulic cylinder more and more often refuses to allow my implements down after I've raised them. It has dual quick connects, left side hasn't worked for years. I've topped off fluids, am waiting on a new hyd. filter, and switched out hoses. 'rrlund' has suggested I try some adjustments on restrictor valves, which I will do asap. But in case anyone else would like to throw in some advice it would be greatly appreciated. p.s. 'rrlund says the Oliver has hydalectric hydraulics system. Thanks in advance

I "think" it does. It has the buttons on the front of the levers. I haven't actually seen it.

My I&T manual states in hydraulic lift trouble shooting (unit will not lower) could be caused by: .Servo valve pilot spool sticking. Lowering valve worn or sticking. Lowering valve check valve not opening. Hope this helps. Greg

Yeah, I was wrong but I kept reading and as rrlund ststed restrictor valve adjustment. The book said clockwise rotation of adjusting screw will increase restriction and slow lowering rate. I forgot to tell you about the 2-105 hydraulic overheating problem. He made some adjustments and has been working. I saw him tonight and he started it yesterday at 12 degrees with a squirt of either. Not bad for a $4500 tractor. Thanks for setting me straight. Greg
