1555 trans oil level

Hi
I've been gone awhile working out of town for long periods of time and haven't been here much for the past year. The old 1555 has been sitting since last year and going over it now to get ready for snow removal noticed the axle seal slight leak has got much worse.I filled the trans to the top of the small elbow at the right rear of tractor and today it is down to the bottom of the tube again.Problem is at the moment no place to fix the axle seal plus tires are fluid filled and just moving the wheels in for the narrower snow blower was a huge chore with that weight.Question is,what is not getting lubed with he level and inch and half low? Until spring for the bit of snow blowing, slow speed operation is damage going to take place with use.Is this trans lubed by a pump as well ?
Thx for the help ,plan to be here a bit more now that back for the winter.

You said: Is this trans lubed by a pump as well ? The answer is NO. That is why the elbow to increase the oil level because the same basic casting was used on the 1655 and they had a pump because of the helical transmission. Have you noticed any oil leaking out of your brakes? They normally leak before the axle seals. When the 1550 first came out they did not have the increased oil level fittings. Is this a rowcrop or a standard tractor?

Hi
How are you doing ? This is the same tractor tractor believe you called a wheatland tractor. It is not row crop and you helped me out with adding power beyond to add the 3 point to run my snow blower a few years back.No the brakes are fine,no oil leaking, the axle shaft started a slow leak last year before I left for work, leaking a fair bit now and topped up trans but it goes down so I can just see a bit in the tube.Slow driving to blow around the yard is what I'm concerned about for the winter,if need be will top it up each time I use it but could use a fair bit of oil if we get snow often this winter.I will be changing out the seal when I can get a tractor here to lift off the wheel.I just don't want to do any harm using it with low oil.I have never had one of these apart to know if damage will take place.
Thanks again
