plow for a cockshutt 570

Did cockshutt make a plow for the 570? If so what model? I'd
like to get one for ours to take to shows with it, maybe even
make the old girl earn it's keep every now and again.

When I bought my 570 the fellow I bought it from said he had a set of 4 bottom cockshutt plows that went with it. They had a tail wheel and a hydraulic cylinder to raise them. I had no use for them and told him just to keep them. Don't know if he still has them or not.

I'd guess there wasn't very many to begin with and the scrap monster has gobbled up a few. Any lead would be appreciated.

The Cockshutt plough model 290 came out with the 570. I have seen a 570 plough with the 5f 290 and it ploughs real nice :!:
I have two of those 290 ploughs, one a 3 furrow and the other is a 4 furrow with one furrow removed. The 4f needs a lots of work as it was left out in the weather likely all of it's life, I used the 3f this past year and it does a very nice job. I also have an Oliver 4340 3f and it is almost identical to the Cockshutt 290.
Here are some pics from a show last year. This is NOT my plough but a very nice solid one:

In about 1961 Dad and I were visiting one of his old army buddies near Salina,KS..He had a new GVI MM diesel tractor sitting in the yard and behind it was a 5 bottom Cockshutt trail plow...There was a good Cockshutt dealer in that area with several 570's being sold..

Our neighbor to the west had D Case and pulled a 3 bottom Cockshutt trail plow...Finding a large Cockshutt trail plow would be a challenge these days..

Several new Cockshutt 570 tractors were sold new by the Cockshutt dealer 30 miles south of me..He sold lots of 30's and 40's..There could still be a few Cockshutt plows in that area..

yep 290 i have 3. 2, 5 bottom,1 four bottom.280 was mounted plow.easiest pulling plow there is.i actually pulled the 4 bottom with my 550 this fall and did ok in 3rd bout 6 in. deep!the super pulls the 5 in 4th and really plays with it.

(quoted from post at 17:05:57 11/25/14) Looks just like a Oliver Model 4340, painted red.
I took some pictures to show some of the differences between the Cockshutt 290 and the Oliver 4340:

General profile is similar:

Cylinder mechanism similar but not identical:

Tail wheel assembly:

Adjusting lever mechanism near centre of frame on Cockshutt but off to the left side on Oliver

Top bolts 4 vs 5

Coulters: 2 support arms vs 1 supportarm
