What would be the best way to... Model 80

Not understanding the problem. Four gears are a simple H
pattern, so far left or right and then forward or back. The only
trick is where to find the slot for that other gear and comes with
practice.

Well yes that seems simple buuut my EOA-35 transmission is in a 1946 Adams Motor Grader Model 311 and is not just a simple H pattern and it is mounted to a high/low auxiliary transmission.
To my understanding the Oliver Model 80 is the primary tractor that used the EOA-35 transmission. Although Galion and Huber used the EOA-35'S and EOA-50'S as well.

I see now that my question was rather ambiguous but there is a lot of slop in both the main and aux. transmissions. There is a lot of linkage that is not on the Oliver 80 Stranded that is most likely the culprit. But if you have any ideas on removing some slop please pipe in....
