update on 1855 oil leak

I finally got a chance to put more oil in today and run it to drop the plow and see if I could find the leak. As one had suggested, it was the oil line going to the turbo. It rubbed through right by the valve cover and had a pretty good size hole. Found it after spraying the engine area down with brake clean to have a clean surface then I just ran it for a little bit.

I picked up a compression union to splice it with and we should be back in action.

One thing I did find though, is a joke about the size of my pinkie in the elbow between
the turbo and muffler. Does anyone here have a good one? I gotta chop some more corn with it now, but I don't want to put the weather brake back on until I get the exhaust leak fixed. No wonder I felt crappy this weekend and beginning of this week. I've been sucking diesel exhaust all weekend.

Glad to hear it was both a relatively easy and an inexpensive fix. Those are always my favorite.

Believe your smartphone or auto spell on your computer did some autocorrect for you. (joke=hole).

Usually try to proof read but I guess I missed that one. Better than some of the autocorrects out there....

Must be the one I spotted on craigslist. Might have to give the guy a call. Was trying a few other sources a little closer first but so far I'm coming up dry. Gotta get the oil line back on so we can chop a little corn with it.

I'll try to call in the next day or so. Been busy trying to get something, any thing, wrapped up on the farm and not having much luck with any of it.

The 18 is 5 miles away from home right now to chop corn out of another guy's field. Been stuck with it 2xs in the last 2 days, and had to pull the wagon out backwards one more time. Plus I lost the chain off the front of the tractor...

All this and the ground is supposed to be frozen ... until I break through 2" of ice and there I sit...
