got it mounted and tested out

Dad helped me get the arms mounted today after I figured out the spacer issue (used a stack of washers for now, will do some plates later) and started loading manure with it. We rented a second spreader and we're hauling with our Massey 285 on our spreader and our 1855 on the rented Knight 8026 spreader. The remotes seemed a little screwy at first and the outside one would make the inside one lift when trying to curl the bucket, but after a little use with it they quit affecting each other.

The loader has a dealer sticker from North Dakota (forget what the name is right now) so it's for sure made a trip to get to Wisconsin.

Part of me wants to paint it, and the other part wants to leave it alone. It really is in good shape, with even some remnants of green paint in the bucket yet.

I have read lots of your posts over the years. Seems like the ole Ollie was sometimes left unused in the past due to you guys having other tractors that were diesel and thus more fuel efficient for a given task.

Bet she gets much more use now with that loader on her. Looks great by the way.

So now which is now the new favorite loader tractor? The MF165 or the Oliver 1600?

The 165 always has been a good loader tractor, but right now the governor is out, the frame has lots of cracks and broken welds, and the engine is getting tired. I want to bring the Ollie home to plow snow with this winter, but I have a feeling she might be staying at the farm to help out.

And you are right, the 16 does sit from time to time because it's a gas.

That looks like a nice setup, I have an 1850 with a
ford 772 loader, made from Schwartz also, but I am
not sure the same as what Oliver one. It is a little
different in the front, instead of one wide bar
where the Oliver emblem is across it had two smaller
bars.

The loader on my 1550 used the remotes when I first bought it- I re-plumbed it to use the "power beyond", and sure liked it a lot better. You can't "feather" it for fine work with the remotes.

Mike can you please email me at [email protected]

thanks. John

My intention is to hook up power beyond at some point, but for now it was nice because it was a simple plug n play to the remotes. I got a valve I can use, I just have to put it back together.

Hi Don,
For my 1610 on a 1600 I have a 6.00x7.750 plate one half inch thick, one 4.500x6.00x .250 plate and one 4.500x6.00x.500 plate for spacers per side. my loader came off a super 88 and all I added was the .250 plate. hHope this helps you out.

what's with the 2 different dimension plates? I can see having a few different thicknesses but the one bigger plate seems odd.

In other news, my Ollie passed her first test by moving almost 2 winters, and a few months of sloppy weather worth of manure this weekend and only blew one hose that looked very possibly to be an original hose on a dump cylinder. Had a hose that was a little long hanging in the shop so we put that on just to keep going and I'll replace it later with a shorter one.
