I got a chance at a 1947 Oliver 70 Orchard. Should I grab it or are they plentiful? It needs a carburetor and both front tires but must have been kept inside because it still has paint and no rust through.

Is it an orchard or standard? How much are they asking for it? Does it run? If it's an orchard has all the fenders and side curtains and in really nice condition then I would go for it depending on the price.

It has the exhaust out the side of the hood at the front of the manifold. It's missing the skirts off of the fenders but all other tin is there.

Whens the last time you saw one for sale? Sure they are probably the least demanded Oliver orchard but its still an orchard and still somewhat valuable. If you look at the cost of normal 70's, a non runner with full metal and decent tires is only $600-$700 tops here in WI. If its not stuck I would expect to pay around $2000 maybe. Parts are pretty easy to find. However the orchard fenders for the 70 I do not know. There was a guy in Canada reproducing the fleetline orchard fenders but I dont know if he re popped the 70's or not. If you could get it for less than $2000 I would say jump on it.

depending on price I'd be all over that. I've heard there was alot of them and they're the least desirable but yet I've never seen one.

I have a 1939 orchard 70, while not real common, they don't seem to be that rare in Michigan either. Haven't seen one sell for awhile, they are fun tractors. Same serial number range as the standards, and industrials so no way to tell them apart except for the exhaust, and drawbar which are unique to the orchard versions.

It's an orchard for sure. Has the correct drawbar and the orchard fenders with holes where the skirts attach. I brought it home tonight along with a Case DI and a Case SI.

I'm thinking they are rare, but I'm in Calif. I've got one disassembled if you need any info. It's a '44 , I hope to have it running by spring .....

Pics of Orchard 70 serial no. 308745 says it is a 1944
