Boy did I make a good find, Found a late Oliver 520 Roto-Bale sitting for the last 40 years unused. My uncles neighbor bought it new in 1972 or 73 and used it for 2 years (about 600 bales a year) then he retired and rented his farm out. The baler has sit in the same spot for all those years in a barn and forgotten till now. My uncle knows I like Oliver tractors and equipment and asked me if I was interested in it, I made a bee line there to look at and buy it! Met with the son of the man who bought it new (father passed away 2 years ago) and he just wants to clean the place up some and get rid of the junk sitting around (NOT junk to me). Well I asked how much he said scrap price but if I bought it he would take less so he didn't have to fool with it and hauling it off. He said $175 will buy it, I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough to pay for it! Now to get 2 tires on it and dig it out of the barn. This one is different that the other one I have, This one has the long toung on it and has White decals on it. It dose have yellow paint under the green on the toung. Cant wait to get it home and clean it up and get it ready to use next year. I think it will look real good behind the 1550 Utility and an Oliver hay wagon . Bandit

lucky you, that is one heck of a find and price. I like the long hitch on that one. My 62-T has the short hitch, it works but I don't realy care for it.

I could not believe the price and I wasn't going to argue with him on it. I agree the short toung it works but I do like the longer one on this one. Only bad thing is this barn is full on ground hog holes and mounds, You really have to watch your step. May make it interesting to get it out. Bandit

That MF is a 175 diesel with 1749 hours and he wont sell it, He wants to keep it to bush hog with. His dad bought it new as well as MF 88 4x14 semi mount plow that was only used for 3 years then left sit as well as a Bush Hog 10' disk he bought new. I ended up buying all 3 to keep them out of the junk yard. Plow points are shot from sitting in the dirt for the last 40 some years but its worth fixing as the plow has only plowed about 100 acres in its life. The mole boards have no ware on them and still have square edges on them so the plow is like a new one. I love finding equipment like this to use. Bandit

Bandit, great find. I hafta say I'm jealous! Been lookin all over for a good 520. I have always baled with a 620 first and for the last 8-9 years with a 720, exact big brother of a 520.
If you ever run across another 520, I'd sure be interested, then I'd have all 3!

How did that baIer get that rusty if it been in the barn aII its Iife??.
It done more than 1200 baIes or there wouid stiII be paint on the pickup me thinks.

good find though.

Well it like this, Hear in SW Ohio even if something sits in a barn is got rust on it. With all the rain and hot humid summers we get its hard to keep anything from rusting away. The south side of the building is open and the east and west doors have been open for as long as I can remember so at least its under a roof. Most of our weather comes out of the S West or N West so ether way the wind blows in on it. If you look at the picture of the pick-up you will see that the ground hogs have dug up under and around it and has dirt thrown up on it, There maybe paint under the dirt so I wont know till I clean it up.

I was there the day it was delivered new (first new piece I ever saw) and know he retired 2 or 3 years later from GE and rented the farm out and it just sit in the barn ever cense. My aunt and uncle own the farm across the road and they know it was used after he retired nothing us but the 175 MF and hush hog. Believe me this looks good for it age for around here. Bandit

Its an early 40s Ford business coupe, Its been sitting there for 30 years or more. Body is real good no front end so the engine is just sitting there in the open. My uncle (in the picture) has wanted it for years but he wouldn't sell it and now he doesn't know if he wants no or not. He still likes to look at it. Bandit

Its a Roto-Flo Feed baler. Oliver used a set up for the feed hay like a hay rake, This gave a smooth feed of hay to the feed fork into the bale chamber. It does work very smooth and works great. Just one of those ideas that didn't catch on. Bandit

Would you be interested in selling that plow? I have a neighbor looking for a plow to mount on his MF Super 90.

You should be locked up for stealing that thing. It does look like it needs some new pickup tines, but that thing looks great.....
