I am putting a clutch in an 1850. The hub in the center of the flywheel has some pretty poor looking splines. Has anybody had good luck with any brand of aftermarket hub?

I just put one in last month. It's an A&I. Can't speak for how long it'll last.
I got mine from Smitty's. He gave me a little tip. He said that single front motor mount gets some serious play in it and the front of the motor starts to tip down causing premature wear. I checked mine and it was pretty bad. I made some shims to put between the mount and the frame.

That makes sense. I noticed there is signicant wear on the front trunion and front cover.
One time I put a 354 Perkins engine from a pea harvester in an 1850. I made up some motor mounts that I fastened to the top of the belly.
Oliver cast seems to tap quite easily.
Now I am going to think about doing that or shimming as you did. Thanks for the reply; I never thought about it till now,
