Char-Lynn Power steering

I put a Char-Lynn power steering motor on my 1550. It also has a cylinder by the tie rod. It works good, can steer pretty much with one finger, but if I turn it one way or the other, you can hear the motor slow down, & sometimes almost kill the motor, give it a bit of choke & it perks up again..
The loader up & down also has an effect on the motor. The bucket not so much.
The oil is right at full mark. I haven't changed the hydraulic filter since I bought it a couple of months ago. Would that possibly cause it. I got the Char-Lynn motor used, & it hasn't been used for many years, I'm guessing at least 15 - 20..

Your Char-Lynn is for hydrostatic steering and not the Char-Lynn that is the torque multiplyer type which is the most common. Lets us do the loader first Do you have an operators manual? Have you checked for adjustment of the remote cylinder speeds. On the steering, put a 2000 PSI pressure gauge in the test port on the flow divider, turn the wheels and see what reading you have in each direction.

Yes I have an IT manual.
No I haven't checked for remote cylinder speeds. It has dual hydraulics. One set is for the loader, & the other set is for the bucket.
I don't have a 2000 PSI pressure gauge, But I can go & buy one if you think I should.
