continental 6 distributor

Looking for a distributor for a Continental 6 in a '47 model 70. Currently what I have is an American Bosch Corporation that is impossible to find parts for. Would like to switch over to a Delco that could be converted to an electronic ignition. Any ideas where I could find one?

If you go to the Pertronix web site (pertronix.com) and download their catalogue, you can go to their distributor cross reference section on page 71 and find the Continental section. You'll see that the F226 motor uses the Pertronix distributor D61-06A. I believe one Delco number is 1111728 and it also references D61-06A.

Hope this helps :) :) :)

First of all it is not an F-226 engine. The distributor on a F-226 sticks through the head and is not at the front of the engine. Next thing is the few model 70 tractors I have seen with a Delco have a right angle drive that goes along with the distributor. I think that Oliver did issue a parts bulletin for this distributor conversion.

John is right as usual. My 41 Cockshutt 70 standard has the distributer as do a lot of the Cockshutt 70's I have seen. I believe it is a D series Continental engine of 201 cubic inch size. Now the rare distributer driven hydraulic pump is a real find I would like!
