saginaw steering problem

hey everyone my uncle has recently purchased a 1650 narrow front and it apparently trails right, meaning he is constantly turning left. so we were wondering if there is a way to fix the saginaw steering pump. do we need new seals or do we have to adjust something?

I had the same on my 1550. I tried Maibach and Farmersville Equipment, and both said that no parts were available and they didn't know who would work on them. Mine wasn't real bad, so I left it alone. There is a kit to convert it to Char-lyn style, but I think its $1100 or so.

my uncle had a 1600 that did the same thing we had the powersteerring unit checked by a hyd shop and they condemmed the steering unit under the steering wheel then we bought a kit from Force America that converted it to a char lynn style worked great but I dont advise buying the hose kit they have I was able to have the hoses needed made at the auto parts store and get them to fit better. very happy with it when done.

Those Saginaw units were discontinued by G-M when the 55 series tractors were still new. So parts have not been available for 40+ years.
