Neighbor has Cockshutt 550 gas tractor(not to be confused with and Oliver utility 550). Tractor is straight, most everything works, tires 50%, could use a paint job. Anybody have an idea on what I should offer. I have never seem one sell

Does it have Hydraulics and 3 point hitch? Wide or narrow front. Does it look anything like this?

Yes that is the tractor. It has a wide front and no 3 point hitch.
Your tractor looks quite a bit nicer.

IMHO no 3pt would knock the value down quit a bit.what about ps ,I'm guessing standard front, crown fenders, stub axles? I think 1500-1800$ would be a good place to start.also brakes are pricey so I would check those and make sure pto is operational, those clutches are not cheap either.

Sorry,it's not. I don't own it. I restored it a couple of years ago for a friend. If it was for sale I would buy it myself. I bought a 570 Diesel and a 35 from him a few years ago,but he's not ready to let the 550 diesel go just yet.

I would say around my area,at least 5 grand. This tractor has power steering, new gauges and steering wheel, good tires and brakes and everything works as it should.
