Cletrac General GG

Have a gentleman wanting to sell an older restoration Cletrac General GG. The only place I can find serial number listings is on YTMag and according to it, this may not be a Cletrac. The serial number is 1FA6770. The tag also reads Model 04CT and 193 after that. Any information would be very much appreciated. The tractor has a single front wheel, with a Wards tire and the owner says he thought the tractor appeared to have been orange. Thanks!

The general gg was originally an Avery product. Avery were bought out by Oliver who took on the small crawler range mostly. Could it be a mix and match?

Rich: It is always good to hear from you!. The little General was introduced in 1939 same as the little Cletrac HG crawler. They used a lot of common parts. They were also sold by Montgomery Wards. B. F. Avery owned a lot of Wards stock. B. F. Avery had been making implements for Wards as well as cultivators for the Cletracs. When the war broke out a lot of Cletrac items were either dropped from the line or changed. Two examples. The E model crawler lines were dropped. Due to the fact that the A cletrac used a Hercules engine and the government said no more of those the AG became the AG-6 with a Continental engine. Before the war was over John Deere was building military Cletracs and Studebaker was building Hercules engines. The Avery models became part of Moline and then Moline just like Oliver became part of White. I have some information I would like to send you. I hope you are doing well. I still play school teacher up here and will again one day this week. How about you? J.
