jackson powersteering on S55

Hi, has anyone installed one of the add-on powersteering systems from Jackson powersteering onto a Super 55? Just curious as to your opinion on it, how well it works, fit, and installation difficulty. Thinking about it as my father inlaw is having a tough time steering the oliver.
Thanks

Installed one on a international 350 wloader on it for bil. Hooked it to the hydraulics of the loader.
Now problems and worked good with a loaded bucket.

We put one of those kits on a 550-Diesel a few years ago. It did not have a loader with front pump to hook into. Got a small hydraulic pump off of a JD 6620 combine and mounted it above the alternator, got a longer belt and ran both off 1 belt. Got a reservoir from a junked chevy van and mounted it above the fuel filter on the right side of the engine. Had to rotate the control unit 90 degrees clockwise so the hoses would have room to be hooked up. Also went to a hydraulic shop and got 90 degree fittings to put on the cylinders so the hoses would lay parallel to the cylinders. Got it all hooked up, put oil in it, started the tractor, let it prime, refilled the reservoir and turned the steering wheel. Here's the funny part, when we turned the wheel right the wheels turned left, we had crossed the lines to the steering cylinders. I have a 550 gas that we are planning to restore this winter it will have a jackson kit on it when it comes out of the shop. The 550 with it on it is the easiest steering trector we have and that is counting my brand new Mahindra. If you have aany questions call me at 502-507-8806.

Thanks Max! My super 55 also does not have a loader, so your experience and solution for the hydraulics is very helpful. Blair

Blair I spoke to Mr Jackson personally regarding my super 55. He said normally they work with the loader pump but without it it seems that there are few options other than to do what was stated prior. However he did get me in contact with someone who had done it with out the loader. He said one of the easiest ways was to get a power steering generator from a Chevy 55,56 & 57 years. They had it mounted like the Oliver unit. Same delco remy generator. I've looked and found many but 350.00 a bit much to add to the cost of the power steering project. However if you have interest in doing this please keep us posted as I too am very interested in making mine as well steer better.
