Help Identify 50's Oliver Diesel

My boss just bought two tractors from an acquaintance down the road. One is an Oliver diesel. I have tried reading old posts and looking at pictures in an attempt to identify it, but still cannot figure it out. Also, I cant find a data plate on either the engine or chassis. Here is what I think I know: It has a torsion spring seat, hydraulic unit, and the placard says that it has 6 forward speeds and two reverses (high/low double H pattern with one shift lever). The grills and side sheets are missing, but it has the sheet metal like the 66, 77, super 66, and super 77, with the darker green paint and cast wheel centers which are p4ainted red. I also noticed that it does not have the flat cultivator mounting pads on the sides of the frame like a super 88. Also, the injection pump would prevent the left side sheet from closing if the side sheet did not have cutouts for the sides of the engine. It is in what I would call "very rough original condition," with the dealer sticker still somewhat visible on the hood but no legible number on the front of the frame.

If it is a 6 cylinder it is a 77. Do it have the high pressure fuel lines in a vertical row or are they in a horizontal row? Look by the starter for block casting numbers. Also where did you look for the serial number tag? If it is an early one the tag will be attached to the right side of the transmission case near the brake petal. DO NOT try to start it till you see if the plunger on the injection pump is free. You could be out up to a $1000. 00 Send a reply with e-mail for more details. J.

Sorry I did not see the part where it said That it did not have the mounting pads I thought it had mounting pads Too early for my eyes

Measure the rear axle diameter. 2-3/4" is model 88. If it is less than that it is a 77, unless it is a 4-cylinder engine, which would make it a 66.

I have a Super 88 diesel that has now sat for about 4 yrs. How do I check the injector pump before I try to start it?
Thanks very much for your help

The injector lines are in a vertical row and it is a 6-cylinder with a rotary pump. The casting number behind the starter is 80220. There is also a casting number on the other side of the engine which reads 14 12 50, and is cast upside-down. Really, there is no danger in me trying to start it, as it was stored outside without a muffler for a very long time.
